Youth Ministry in the Concord-Carlisle Catholic Collaborative
Goals:
Provide opportunities for our teens to learn and practice being a Catholic Christian.
For teens to grow in faith through learning opportunities, prayer experiences, and opportunities for ministry and missions.
Vision:For the parishes in the Concord Carlisle Catholic Collaborative to be a place where teens are welcomed, actively involved, and growing in their Catholic Christian faith.
Create a community of teens who are actively involved in growing discipleship and the life of the parishes.
For our teens to be missionary disciples, bringing the love of Jesus Christ and the truth of the Catholic Church into their everyday lives, having a positive effect on their friends and our communities.
Mission: Love God, love others, make disciples (Matt 28) -
2025 and Beyond! Vision for Youth Ministry Youth Ministry will consist of Small Groups meeting at various times, with larger gatherings, mission opportunities, Peer Ministry, and our seasonal events like Turkey Truck and Christmas Tree Pick Up.
Small Groups - those other teens you were with each Sunday, they were your small group. Calling it a "class" is an outdated school model. You were in a "small group", sharing life and faith together. Those groups could continue, or be modified, or include whoever you want. We could talk about whatever you want and meet where ever you want. I just need another adult and you probably want to bring your friends.
Youth Group - with a new Mass schedule with a Sunday 5pm Mass (at St. Irene), it makes sense to offer a monthly Youth Group after Mass. Our first one was in May (about the Pope) and I expect we will resume in October 2025.
Peer Ministry - this is the leadership and advisory group of Youth Ministry. This group meets monthly on Sunday nights (exact schedule to be determined). Teens need to apply to join Peer Ministry by completing an online interest form and having a conversation with Tony to clarify expectations.
Ministry Opportunities - like having a role with Faith Formation (for younger kids) or regularly helping at Mass as a Lector (Bible readings), Communion Minister, Greeter, Hospitality, Music Ministry - let Tony know you are interested.
Mission Opportunities - Turkey Truck, or the occasional opportunities we offer to places like HGRM, Cor Unum, fall yard work for the elderly, and others - sign up as you receive information.
Youth Ministry Events - annual events like the Christmas Tree Pick Up, Concord Tree Lighting, and others! -

Youth Ministry: Goals and Aspirations
In all aspects of Youth Ministry we want teens to grow and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and the Church. Our goal is to offer a ministry sustained by Adult Leaders and Coordinator of Youth Ministry (Tony Carbrello). There are many options of what we may do and how we may do it!
Areas for further growth for High School Youth Ministry:
- Sustainable regularly scheduled opportunities of Works of Mercy / Mission
- Increased involvement of teens in liturgical ministries
- Opportunities for teens to experience church social events
Our hopes for Middle School Youth Ministry:
When we are able to develop to this point of growth, Middle School Youth Ministry will supplement the scheduled sessions of faith formation by providing opportunities for events that are: Social, Community-building, include Works of Mercy (service), and more!
